The Midnight Sun Marathon, is run in the evening, with most runners finishing around midnight. However, because Tromsø is so far north these finishers will finish the race in broad daylight.

Midnight Sun Marathon Route
The start and finish lines are in the city centre. Runners head off towards the Tromsø Bridge, 2 km in to the race which arcs uphill from 6 to 43 meters above sea level. At the 20km point runners cross back over the bridge, returning to and passing through the city centre. The second half of the course is quite flat and easy. The course loops round and brings runners back to the city centre again, this time to the finish line and cheering crowds.
