The Goa River Marathon is an AIMS Certified race, and has been described by National Geographic as "one of the 10 Great Marathons in the world".

The race follows an out and back course.

Starting and finishing at Joggers Park, Chicalim, runners will get to see many significant local sites on the way to and from the turnaround point. These include St Jacinto Island, the St John Convent and Shree Shantadurga Laxmi Narsimha Temple.
