The Guatemala Impact Marathon is part of the Impact Marathon Series. Based in Sacatepequez, it describes itself as a "Climate Change & Conservation Marathon" for those "Born to Run".

Guatemala Impact Marathon Route
Starting at the volcano, the course begins with a 20km out-and-back section across the southern lava fields. Passing back near the start line runners continue north and east into a clockwise lap, traversing similarly rugged terrain on their way to the finish line.

Being on a valcano, and climbing 400m, the race is unsurprisingly hilly. Organisers justifiably describe it as like 'running on the moon'.
